The com.vmware.vcenter.Host.delete REST API removes a standalone ESXi host from the vCenter Server system. However, if an ESXi host is part of a cluster, and you remove the ESXi host from the vCenter Server system by using the com.vmware.vcenter.Host.delete REST API, the parent cluster is also removed from the vCenter Server system.
